Mendli is a roofing enquiry and introduction service operating in the United Kingdom.

For the purposes of UK data protection law, Reiss Henderson, trading as Mendli, is the controller of the personal information described in this Privacy Policy.

When you submit a roofing enquiry, we may collect your name, email address, telephone number, postcode, information about the property, your relationship to or ownership of the property, the type of roofing work required, the urgency of the work, descriptions or other information you provide about the roofing problem, photographs you upload, and information relating to your enquiry and its progress.

We may also receive limited technical and aggregated website-usage information through Vercel Web Analytics.

Please avoid including unnecessary sensitive personal information in photographs, descriptions or other information you submit.

We use personal information to receive and process roofing enquiries; review and assess enquiries; identify a roofing professional who may be suitable for an enquiry; share relevant enquiry information with a suitable roofing professional; enable that roofing professional to contact the homeowner; communicate with you about your enquiry; administer and operate the Mendli service; maintain appropriate records; protect the security and integrity of our website and systems; understand the general performance and use of our website; and comply with applicable legal obligations.

Mendli helps homeowners submit roofing enquiries and facilitates introductions to roofing professionals.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, Mendli is not the roofing contractor and does not itself carry out the roofing work.

Where an enquiry is passed to a roofing professional, that professional may contact you directly regarding the potential work.

We only use personal information where we have a lawful basis for doing so.

Depending on the processing involved, we may rely on: steps at your request or contract, where processing is necessary to provide the service you have requested or take steps at your request; legitimate interests, where necessary to operate and administer Mendli, handle enquiries, maintain appropriate records and protect the service, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights and interests; and legal obligations, where processing or retention is required by law.

A central part of the Mendli service is connecting homeowners with suitable roofing professionals.

If we identify a roofing professional as potentially suitable for your enquiry, we may share information necessary for them to assess the enquiry and contact you. This may include your name, contact details, postcode and relevant property information, work type and urgency, description of the roofing issue, and uploaded photographs.

Once a roofing professional receives your information, they may process that information for their own purposes in connection with responding to your enquiry.

Mendli uses third-party technology providers to operate the service. At the date of this Privacy Policy these include Supabase for database, authentication and storage infrastructure; Vercel for website hosting, deployment and associated infrastructure; Resend for email delivery infrastructure; and Vercel Web Analytics for website analytics.

These providers may process information as necessary to provide their services. Where personal information is transferred internationally, Mendli will seek to ensure that appropriate protections required by applicable data protection law are used.

Mendli does not currently intentionally use advertising cookies or marketing pixels.

We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand website usage and performance. Vercel states that its Web Analytics product stores anonymised data and does not use cookies; visitors are identified using a short-lived hash rather than a persistent cookie.

If we introduce technologies in future that require consent under applicable privacy or electronic communications law, we will update our approach and, where required, request consent before using them.

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including administering enquiries, maintaining appropriate business records, resolving disputes and meeting applicable legal requirements.

Retention periods may vary depending on the nature and status of an enquiry. We periodically review information we hold and delete or anonymise information that is no longer reasonably required.

Photographs uploaded with an enquiry are used to help understand and assess the roofing work and may be shared with a suitable roofing professional as part of that enquiry.

Photographs are not intended to be made publicly available through Mendli. You should only upload photographs relevant to your roofing enquiry and which you are entitled to provide.

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures intended to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or disclosure. However, no internet-based service or electronic storage system can guarantee absolute security.

Depending on the circumstances and the lawful basis on which your information is processed, UK data protection law may give you rights relating to your personal information, including rights to request access, correction, deletion or restriction; object to certain processing; and receive certain information in a portable format where applicable.

If we rely on legitimate interests, you have the right to object to processing based on those interests. Whether we must stop processing will depend on the circumstances and applicable law.
